I've just finished and uploaded to GitHub MtkGps library for Galileo I tested with Adafruit Ultimate GPS breakout v3. In theory it should work with any GPS module which understands MediaTek PMTK protocol. Library includes 3 examples - gps_terminal, sat_view and bridge.
