I am sorry for my delayed response.
While it is something that does not necessarily fixes this issue I have an important note:
The Intel® Rapid Storage Technology software v13.1 supports the following chipsets:
- Intel(R) 9 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI/RAID Controller
- Intel(R) 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI/RAID Controller
- Intel(R) 7 Series/C216 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI/RAID Controller
- Intel(R) C600 Series Chipset SATA AHCI Controller

Older chipsets should use the latest supported version. Intel® 6 Series Chipset and Intel® 5 Series Chipsets support Intel® Rapid Storage Technology software v12.9
I would also like to emphasize that Intel drivers must be downloaded from our download center or the respective system manufacturer’s website. We cannot guarantee the functionality of drivers published by third party websites.
I was still not able to replicate this issue in Windows* 8.1 but I would like to make sure our engineering department is aware of it. I will let you know regarding any information as soon as possible.
