I have both a 7260 N card and a 7260 AC card. Both are major disappointments. After trying both in a laptop running Windows 8.1, I decided to try one of my Centrino 2200 cards. These cards have always performed as promised. I removed the 7260 AC using the device manager. I installed the 2200 card that I have used in this laptop before with great results. This time however, the 2200 card performed slowly like both of the 7260 cards. The 2200 doesn't even use this software driver, yet it limited my download speeds to about 3-4 mbps. At the time, my max was about 33 mbps from my provider. I believe this is a software only issue because of this experience. I think that software is changing a setting that is killing our download speeds.
